They Call Me, "Grace"

Maddux managed to help me pull a "good one" today. Yes, it was the highlight of the day if that tells you much of anything. After a quick dinner as a single mom (Aaron went back to work tonight after finally beating the horrible stomach virus we've all passed around for over a month now), I decided to make some strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing as a little treat for the boys. Mistake number 1 - cooking! :) LOL. Anyhow, I guess while I was mixing the cake batter, Maddux pulled out a cookie sheet from the cabinet he is allowed to play in and left it directly behind me. I turned around to throw away something, stepped directly onto the cookie sheet, my foot slipped all over the place and down I went. I managed to land on my right knee then back onto my left hip. I let out a sort of shrill/scream as I went down and managed to scare my boys to death. Maddux came running towards me crying. Hunter kept saying, "Mom, are you okay? Mom, are you okay?" I couldn't speak. I  was trying to decide whether I wanted to cry or laugh. :) Just call me, "Grace", I guess. Just so everyone knows, I get this honestly. My mom and both grandmothers have taken numerous spills. I'm just the fortunate one that so far has NOT had any broken bones, black eyes, or knee surgery. I do think I'm about to max out my limit on freebies! :)

I was able to help out a dear, deaf friend today. As much as I hate all the things she is going through, I was excited to be able to help her.

I laughed so hard today during my 6th hour yearbook class when a Spanish speaking "solicitor" called and my editor attempted to speak in Spanish back to them. I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. I don't know which was better - listening to him attempt to speak it or knowing how incredibly confused the person on the other end was. :) Regardless, the laughter was great!

Hunter made the Superintendent's Honor Roll again this 6 weeks and for the semester. I'm a super proud mommy if you can't tell. He loves school which makes it all the better. Even more important to me than that is the way he treats other. I pray daily that he will always carry with him his sensitive, caring attitude and ways. He is a great kid. I pray. That's the ONLY way.

Besides the cookie sheet incident I mentioned early, Maddux's highlight of the day was pooping on the big boy potty today at Mrs. Cathy's. He has yet to use the restroom on the big boy potty at home at all, but he does great at her house. I know it's still early so I'm not stressing it (yet) although it'll be nice to not buy diapers!

No news today on my dad. You know how the old saying goes, "No news is good news." I'm off to bed. Thanks again for your support and prayers.
