Have you ever had one of those moments when you can honestly say, "I was supposed to be here at this moment, at this time, with these people, for a very specific purpose to hear exactly what is being said?" In other words, God was speaking directly through your situation. I had one of those moments again today.
I was humbled today in front of many people. Thank you so much, Holly for inviting me to the Teacher Appreciation Day at OSSM. I have rarely felt God speak to me in a more clear, precise, definite voice than He did today while I sat amongst fellow Oklahoman teaching peers, you, your classmates, and your mom. I was made to be a teacher. If ever I did doubt (yes, this does happens at times), it was made clear today. Thank you for being the light in which God shined through to show me that I'm exactly where I should be. If ever I do doubt, I will always look back upon today and remember that all the things I do are not only worth it, but more importantly crucial to my students and calling in my life. I am so amazed at God's love for me. He knows me better than I know myself (thank goodness) and knows exactly when to present the facts to me!
I was honored by Oklahoma Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Janet Barresi as well as by all the staff at OSSM along with many other Oklahoma teachers. Tulsa News On 6 Co-Anchor, Mr. Scott Thompson read the essays written by the class of 2011 OSSM students. We all received a full booklet of every student's essay about their teacher. My favorite line from Holly's is "What makes Mrs. Molloy a good teacher isn't her ability to educate students about academic subjects, it is her ability to educate students about life." If Holly has taken this away from me, then I am successfully working towards my purpose and calling in life. The entire essay was so humbling and heartfelt. It was my honor to be there with you today, Holly. I am so proud of you and the person you've grown to be through the years. I know you're going to do great things. I can't wait to watch it all happen.
