Dad went in today for his pre-surgery colonoscipy. The new surgeon in OKC found 2 more polyps on his colon which she removed while in there and then a spot very close to his liver. She did a biopsy on that spot while in there and hoping to get those results before they do the surgery on Tuesday but will do the surgery regardless of whether they get them or not. She doesn't think it's anything major, but wanted to rule it out. He goes in for surgery on Tuesday and will be in the hospital for 5-7 days in OKC. During that time he will be learning how to take care of the bag he will have for 3-4 months. The surgeon would also like him to do a sleep study test while in the hospital after surgery as long as recovery is going well. (I guess he was doing his normal snoring during the procedure.) Please join in prayer with us during this next week. It's going to be a long week for all of us and all of your prayers are appreciated. There is a great chance that my maw-maw and mom will be together for the first time since around Christmas Eve. Pray for that situation. The last thing we need is a family disturbance in the midst of everything else. I'm sure I will be the "mediator" as always so pray for me as well.
Speaking of myself, I have STREP throat. Pray that the meds kick in quickly so that I can be there for my family next week. My doctor said I should only be contagious through the end of the day today, but I am still not feeling well at all. They gave me a shot and then I have antibiotic to take the next few days. :( Pray my family doesn't get it as well. As of right now we've kept the kiddos away with the help of wonderful family. Hopefully no one else gets this mess.
