Week 4, Day 4

I know, I know. It's been forever. We're finally back into the groove of everyday life, which means lots of things to grade, homework to do, deadlines to meet, etc. Soooooo, once I do get home, I'm pretty much wiped. Last night, I fell asleep around 7ish. I still woke up tired this morning.

Dad's been doing great up until yesterday. He was very dizzy, was trying to throw up (but was just dry heaving because he was unable to eat due to the nausea), and was going to the restroom very frequently. The night before he was up at least 4 times needing to urinate. Since he had been doing so well up until this point, my mom made sure he told the nurse at treatment. They prescribed him some medication for the diarrhea and told him to drink lots of Pedialyte. Unfortunately, he does not eat the small, frequent meals like they recommend and oftentimes will just skip a meal if my mom isn't at home to cook for him. Being that he only used to eat one big meal per day, this has been something difficult for him. He is definitely going to have to work on a better, more balance, more frequent diet. We will see how that goes. Anyhow, Mom said he's feeling quite a bit better today.

Diane Ryswyk came by to visit Mom and I at school yesterday. She brought us our "Cancer Sucks" shirts. They have a lollipop on them and under the headline "Cancer Sucks" it says, "We'll just lick it!" :) They are bright purple with silver screen printing on them. How nice of her to think of us! She is an incredible lady and teacher who has already BEAT cancer and is a survivor. She looked great and it was so wonderful to see her. She is always such an inspiration to be around (even before the word cancer came into her life.) :)

We celebrated Aaron's 37th birthday on Sunday. We had lunch at Texas Roadhouse after church with my parents and sister and Aaron's parents. Then, we had our Financial Peace class at church that afternoon where we had his birthday cake that the boys and I made the night before. It was red velvet with cream cheese icing. The boys both enjoyed their Valentines Day parties, candy, and gifts. Their favorite gift was cheese balls. :) LOL
